How sad is it that I got really excited when I got my hotel confirmation for Phoenix in April when I found out the hotel has an honest to god lap pool? Screw the conference, I’m goin’ SWIMMIN’!! Now if they only had a park with about 10 miles of running trails right next to the hotel… And someplace to ride… That’d be great…
The pressure is on now. This is the time of year to start registering for races, renewing memberships and all that other stuff (renewing Pandora!). I haven’t pulled the trigger on anything yet, but I’ve got some favorites lined up. The odd thing is that 2 of them are offroad half marathons. And I’m ok with that… Wait, what?
I can’t say I’m really 100% READY for an offroad half… but I’m in MUCH better shape than I was when I ran that 25K in October. And I still have a month to train. I think I’m good…! My long run so far is about 11.5mi and it felt really good! Granted it was on a dead FLAT trail, but that’s not the point. The distance is there. And it feels better with each pound I lose. I’ve got a little momentum going here and now it’s time to back that up with a race or two just to give me something to look forward to…!
That’s it. Nothing more on my feeble little mind. Swim this morning was… a swim. The water was wet, etc. Nothing special.
