Got done making my first presentation at a national conference and decided to decompress at the hotel gym. Unfortunately the weather turned foul on me and I couldn’t go for another run AND it has been raining enough that the trail might be a bit muddy. So it’s either run/ride inside or do a little urban running. Since I have no idea where I am… I choose gym.
I rode for an hour on a stationary and then jumped off and got on a treadmill for a fast mile. I am trying to get used to going hard right off the bike so that I am used to the heavy leg feeling you get.
I’m afraid, however, that I may have to say goodbye to an old friend. My favorite running shirt is just downright stinky… And I don’t think any amount of Febreze can save it. It has gone hundreds of miles with me through the good and the bad, and I will miss it. It was my first “tech” shirt once I moved out of cotton. I think two years is a decent amount of time for a shirt? Don’t you?
I am hopeful that I will be able to sneak in one more run tomorrow before my last session and then the plane trip home if it’s not still raining. If it is I might just use tomorrow as my day off and get back in the pool on Friday. I would like to run the St. Paddy’s Day 5K this weekend but we’ll see.
