The demise of Captain Whineypants

Distance: 8.5 miles (2 runs)

Miles to go: 1662

Last night’s track night was the official death of Captain Whineypants.  I finally had a decent (albeit not 100%) run where I felt like I wasn’t going to self destruct or bonk on the warmup.  My splits were still slow for me, with my fastest equating to about an 8 minute mile.  But I FELT better, which hasn’t happened in two weeks.  And then, after the first decent night sleep I have had in a week, I woke up this morning and stomped on the Captain one more time to make sure he was dead by going out and running a smooth, steady 5 miles.  I still have a long way to go to feel like I’m back in shape, but at least now I don’t want to quit anymore…
