I’m not complaining… really…

Distance: 6. something…

Miles to go: 1742

At least it didn’t rain until I got back this time…  I think my body is starting to get moldy.  If I stand still too long, I get moss growing on my north side.  I’m REALLY tired of running wet… of hearing my shoes squish …of having to take two towels with me when I run.  Look… I know we need the rain, but damn…

Yesterday’s run used to go up a  tough hill on a rough, forested trail that got steeper the closer to the top you got, but rewarded you by popping out in the middle of the beautiful University of Missouri campus.  But our species, in its infinite wisdom, seems to continually find ways to destroy or pave over the good stuff so the University/city are making some “improvements” which include cutting down the forest and paving it over to improve access to the big arenas that the road runs by.  The end result for me is still a tough hill (currently full of mud and rock until they finish it and get it paved) but a shorter and far less enjoyable route… *sigh*.  Still, it was a fine run and most importantly (until the last 25 feet) it was dry…  Well… it wasn’t raining…  but the 140% humidity made sure that my shirt was still soaked anyway.  Ahh… spring and early summer in the midwest…
