…imagine, if you will…

OK… so I go to the traknight workout and for some reason think it is a good idea to go ape shit and think I’m all fast and stuff. After pushing myself harder than I have in 6 months, running buddy relays and passing batons, etc. AND being completely exhausted at the end of the day (remember, I bike to work on Wednesdays as well) I go home and get the email telling me what the route is for the Thursday morning run. Something about intervals… ok… no problem… I can do this…

…and then I woke up in the twilight zone…

I staggered groggily out to the truck, in no small amount of pain from the night before, and drive off into the morning mist. I land in my usual spot, only to watch the sprinkles start to cascade down my windshield as I waited to start. I get out, in the rain, and wander over to listen to the details of the run, grunting good mornings along the way. Before I know it I am wobbling off painfully down the trail (yes, my pelvis was hurting… a lot) doubtful I will make it to the end of the trail, much less the track…

…wait…

…the track…?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But yet, somehow I ended up there anyway.

I’m not sure how, but I had a baton in my hand…

…swapping it with a girl named Carla, who was my friend but…

I had never met her…

and we were running 6 X 400s…

and I was running mine at a 6:30 pace…

in a thunderstorm…

…no

…really…

I’m not making this up…

It’s WAY too stupid to not be true…

…and then I ran the 2 miles back to the truck…

and it was dry…

and my pelvis didn’t hurt anymore…

…now I’m afraid to go to sleep…
