I’m back from a lovely trip to Oklahoma to bury my oldest sister. The funeral was sandwiched between 2, seven hour drives so I could get down and back in a day. Oh… and from about Enid to just past Emporia, Kansas it was snowing on the trip back… blech.
Lessee, I ate junk, sat for about 18 hours out of 24, didn’t exercise and am running on about 5 hours sleep. Heh… funny to think that this used to be a normal routine for me…!
Now that I’m back I am going to take today off of work, go furniture shopping and then go for a long run this afternoon. It’s windy and about 35 degrees so I should have the trail to myself again. Now I just gotta find my cold weather gear again. Maybe the long run will help me sleep tonight. I think I am going to try to put in about 20 miles (really slow) over the next three days, just to see how I feel after several days of long runs. No real reason other than I just seem to enjoy doing odd and painful experiments on my own body (don’t go there…). That and next weekend is the 10K I signed up for and it is on Saturday, which kinda screws up my long run schedule (I am not doing 6 hard and then 11 the next day… been there, done that… took Advil… not good). So I am kinda preloading this week with more miles so I can take it easy next Sunday.
